Partners
I am working in collaboration with different partners in the United Kingdom, France and Germany. These collaborations are for translation, teaching and tour guiding purposes.
I work with a private entrepreneur in Normandy, who organises tours from Normandy and Portsmouth's twin-town of Caen to the Portsmouth area from Ouistreham in Calvados, the port of Caen. We have collaborated successfully on many trips to Portsmouth and are expanding our repertoire to include visits to places further afield such as Arundel, Chichester, Winchester, Salisbury and the Isle of Wight. We also hope to introduce a trip to Caen from Portsmouth for Portsmouth's city twinning association with Caen.
Her company is known as Brigitte Poirier Tourisme, she also has a gite (holiday cottage) for rental purposes and maintains a web presence via Facebook here.
We both work with another private entrepreneur, Marie-Christine Malnoë in Normandy, who runs her own independent travel agency, called 'Le Village des Sens'.
From 2017, I worked with her to update the English content of her company website. We are also planning tours, with Brigitte, of both sides of the English Channel, with visits planned for the citizens of the Caen area of France here in Portsmouth.
In Germany, I collaborated with Academia Webinars to deliver webinars about translating into English from German, webinars about the city of Portsmouth and its history, finally webinars about how to use the Mac OS for novices. In the United Kingdom, I am collaborating with Tertulia Languages and the University of Portsmouth. I am affiliated with Tertulia Languages as a tutor of English as a Foreign Language, French and German.
I was invited to the University to talk about my chosen career path and what I did to get to where I am. The talk took place on March 8th, 2017. You can read about it on the Newsblog page.
I also work with Portsmouth City Council, through their Visitor's Information Service as an official tour guide. I give guided walks and coach tours of Portsmouth in English, French and German offered through their guide booking service.
